NYFW Spring 2013

Just in case you didn't already know this week was Fashion Week in NYC. One of my life's goals is to work  NYFW, I don't care if all I do is hand out flyers and get coffee I would love to be there. Sigh... maybe one day, a girl can dream right? Well until that day (hopefully) comes I can look through all the photos online and drool over the clothing.

I wanted to share some of my favorite looks I've seen online. This first post is only gowns. Aren't they all just to die for? I'm going to follow up with a second post of some more wear-able looks.

Valentine's Date Night

My boyfriend and I live in different cities so we only get to see each other on weekends. Since Valentine's day fell on Thursday this year we decided that we would celebrate on Saturday. It's going to be quite chilly tonight so thick tights are a good option underneath all of my outfit choices. I can never choose what I want to wear when I go out somewhere so I narrowed it down to three different outfit choices and I took pictures to decide.

The first outfit is a dress I found at Francesca's years ago, and I still have not worn it. I love this dress but I can never seem to find the right occasion to wear it. I didn't end up choosing it for my date night because it just didn't feel like a Valentine's day dress to me.

My second outfit is another dress from Francesca's. It's covered in champagne colored lace so it felt a little more romantic and Valentine's date appropriate. I love it with this necklace that I also found at Francesca's. I went in to search for a necklace with all black beading. I couldn't find one but I did find this one instead and I absolutely love it.

My third outfit choice is the one I actually ended up wearing. It was Valentine's day, of course I wanted to wear something red! Also the necklace that I am in love with looked better against the red top. I ordered this peplum lace top from Banana Republic a while ago and I have not worn it yet so this was the perfect occasion to bust it out.

Apparently I like to dance and make duck faces while taking outfit photos:

Here is a close up and better shot of the necklace... seriously though I LOVE it. You will most likely be seeing this necklace with just about every outfit. You can also see the lace detail of the shirt better:

Mint Green

Today's outfit is brought to you by another photo I found on Pinterest. I saw this photo a while ago and ever since I have been lusting over mint green tops. Well, the other day I walked into GAP and there it was, but it wasn't on sale (I usually try and purchase things on sale or with a coupon). I thought I should try it on anyways, and I fell in love. It's so soft, nice and light, well needless to say I splurged and purchased it!

I also found this coral bubble necklace the same day. I thought the color would add a nice pop of color to the outfit.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! For today's outfit I decided I wanted to wear something fun and girly. I love graphic sweaters right now and I found this one at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago. I immediately thought it would be perfect to wear today.

I also found a neat trick on Pinterest for layering shirts. I love the look of layering a shirt underneath a sweater but it sometimes it can look a little messy. Well I came across this post on Pinterest the other day and thought it was very clever. First you put on your shirt, then put a tight tank over it to smooth it out, finally put your sweater on and voila no messy bumps, buttons, or wrinkles!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Today is going to be a gloomy and chilly day. So I decided I wanted to be cozy and comfortable. Leggings and a T-shirt were a perfect choice for the weather today, I layered with a thick sweater to keep warm and cozy. I've also been wanting to wear these cozy boots. I bought them a few months ago and they have been sitting in the back of my closet waiting to be rediscovered.

Polka Dots

I have been seeing polka dot patterns everywhere lately. This made me want to wear these adorable polka dot skinny jeans today. I also love that emerald green is on trend right now because it is one of my favorite colors to wear. This is one of those universal colors that looks good on almost everyone.
