Kimono

I saw this gorgeous kimono jacket on the Zara website a couple of months ago and immediately fell in love. Once I received it I was a little unsure of how I wanted to style it, so I hung it up in my closet and waited for some inspiration. While looking through Pinterest I came across a photo with a similar kimono and I thought the outfit was perfection. The Pin led me to Alexandra's blog, Lovely Pepa. If you haven't already seen her blog I highly suggest taking a look. I love her effortless style and she's adorable!

Tunic Shirts

I'm kind of-- no, for sure in love with this shirt. For some reason I've never been crazy about tunic shirts until I found this one. It's so light, soft, casual and effortless. I can just throw it on over a pair of skinny jeans or leggings and it looks great without over-thinking it. I wore this ensemble over the weekend to run some errands and I decided it was so comfy that it's a perfect no-brainer Monday morning outfit.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this to you guys but I loathe mornings and I loathe Mondays, so Monday mornings are just not a good combo for me. Luckily I have this tunic and Starbucks to help me come out alive.

Sunday Wish List: Summer Dresses

My absolute favorite outfit during the summer time is always a casual dress. It's so easy to just throw one on with sandals and go. It's also a plus that they keep you cool in the heat. I have my eye on quite a few dresses for this summer.

What's your outfit of choice during the summer months?

Thank You Pinterest

This look was inspired by another photo found on Pinterest. I think I've said this before-- how on earth did I ever get dressed before this site?!

Not only does it have amazing inspiration for outfits, it has decor, diy, cleaning, event planning, etc. Almost anything you can think of becomes exponentially better with Pinterest. Example: I moved into my apartment a few months ago and the carpets had this nasty smell to them, gross! I complained, had the apartment complex steam clean them twice, I purchased every carpet cleaning product under the sun, nothing worked. Then I came across a pin for carpet cleaning. It was so simple, I steam cleaned the carpets myself with a mixture of water, vinegar and baking soda. Viola! No more nasty carpet smell. Thank you Pinterest!

Anyhow, enough about my Pinterest obsession and smelly carpet woes. I saw this photo and loved the simplicity of it. Like I explained in my 'Mix it Up' post earlier this week, if you see an outfit you like, you don't have to mimic it exactly to achieve the same style effect. I reversed the blazer and shirt to match items in my closet, I also added a necklace to fit my personal style a little better.

Boots in April

Boots.. in April?-- In Florida?-- Madness! That's exactly what I was thinking a few days ago when temperatures suddenly took a plunge. It was a nice little break from the sweltering heat and I was able to wear boots one last time.  My styling mind is already in summer-mode so when I had to choose a warmer outfit, I felt stumped. I immediately reached for basic hues because, you can't go wrong. I'm not going to lie, this look is one of my all-time favorites. I'm glad the weather cooled down so I was able to discover it.

Maxi and Stripes

I love maxi skirts and I love stripes so naturally, this skirt is a match made in wardrobe heaven. I know I've gushed about my love for maxis before, I really hope this trend sticks around forever, (along with skinny jeans and cross-body bags). I just love throwing one on, it makes for an instant effortless look. It was randomly chilly the other day when I wore this, so I was able to pair it with my denim jacket and booties.  The weather has already warmed back up and I'm antsy to wear it again with warmer weather looks. I'm sure this will be a staple piece for me this summer.

Mix it Up

If you saw my inspiration post last week, you've already had a sneak peek of this look. I came across this photo on Pinterest while trying to come up with some style inspiration. I love how it's casual and effortless with pops of bright colors. While I don't own a neon yellow shirt and bright pink bag, I decided to mix up the pieces and replace them with items I have hanging in my closet. That's the lovely thing about finding style inspiration in other outfits. You don't have to style the look exactly the same. You can switch it up to match items you already have and your own personal style.

Inspiration:

This is Rachel from The Pink Peonies, I have recently discovered her blog and I am in love with her style. It's chic yet effortless. Make sure you check out her blog!

Lunch Date

I had a pretty low-key and relaxing weekend which is always nice. After being lazy bums pretty much all weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to have a lunch date on Sunday afternoon, this is what I threw on. I ordered the crochet vest from Forever21 months ago and I had not worn it yet. It adds a little something extra to a casual outfit. I like buying pieces like this, especially for summer. I can just throw it on over anything.

I have been following Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins for a while now, her blog and style are adorable. She hosts a blog link up every week and I finally figured out how to link up to her blog, it's super easy. I decided to give it a try and host one on my blog as well.

Every Friday I will host a link up here on Simple Easy Style.  I will then choose my favorite submissions for that week to be featured on my blog the following Friday. If your post is chosen I will let you know the Thursday night before, so that you can feature it on your blog if you would like.

If your new to link ups it's easy:
  • Make sure you're a Simple Easy Style follower
  • Choose your post, it can be anything style related (fashion, beauty, home decor, DIY)
  • Link your post back to Simple Easy Style
  • Link up your blog post by clicking the link below

Since this is my first time hosting a link up I did not have any submissions last week. I will share some of my favorite blogs that I already follow!
