March Favorites

I have decided that I am going to post monthly favorites at the end of each month. It was quite difficult for me to decide on these five looks -- not a surprise, me indecisive? never. These aren't necessarily the outfits that had the most views, they're just my personal favorites. Which looks were your favorites this month?

A Week in Red

You are probably sick of seeing this blazer, but I love it and I can't stop thinking of different ways to style it. I had to wear it one last time this week since I wore red everyday in support of marriage equality (or maybe I'm just making up excuses to wear this blazer again). Of course seeing this photo on Pinterest didn't help, and ultimately caused me to give into my wear-this-red-blazer-with-everything-temptation

P.S. My feet are the exact same color as these nude flats (I swear I'm wearing shoes!). This Florida girl needs to lay on the beach and get a little sun!

Preppy in Red

I wanted to apologize to you guys for my seemingly haphazard sense of style. I kind of just wake up and wear whatever I feel like wearing each day. Since I'm such an indecisive person this causes my style to bounce around-- quite a bit. Sometimes I'm feeling preppy, other days feminine, boho, edgy... you get the gist. I guess in a way it's a good thing, while shopping over the weekend my friend said to me, 'I'm so jealous of you, you can walk into any store and shop in it'. So if you're the type of person who likes reading style blogs with a consistent fashion theme, I am so very sorry!

Spring Is in the Air

This outfit just looks like Spring to me. The temperatures took quite a dive this week, which is nice because now it actually feels like Spring, rather than going straight into Summer weather.

I pulled out this bright red sweater that I bought last year and forgot about entirely. I love when that happens, it makes an old item feel new again. I added my bright scarf and a white clutch to make this look more Spring-y?..I don't think that's an actual word but for the purposes of this blog it is!

Wearing Red for a Cause

This post is a little more serious than usual because, today is a historic day for this country. If you haven't already heard, the supreme court will be hearing two cases on marriage equality this week. All those who support marriage equality have been asked to wear red today. I will not only be wearing red today, I will incorporate it into every outfit this week in order to show my support. Hopefully one day in the near future, everyone in this country will have equal rights. At the end of the day love is love.

On a less serious note, I found these boots on sale today. I have been searching for a pair of cognac colored boots all winter and I haven't been able to find a pair that I really like. I almost didn't buy them because, this is Florida and who needs a new pair of boots... in March? I justified my purchase by telling myself I can wear them this week since there is a cold front. At least I found a pair I like, better late than never!

Shopping Round Up

One of my best friends came down from Boston this past weekend and we did what we do best, shopping! We hit up the outlet mall in Orlando of course. How can you pass up a mall full of designer and brand name stores with low budget prices? Yes please!

In addition to my outlet mall shopping, I placed an order with American Eagle online. I have been searching for pleated skirts so I was very excited to find these on sale. I also grabbed a couple of light sweaters for the spring because we are still getting hit with cold fronts in March. This is Florida so cold weather and March don't usually mix. But I will take every last bit of chilly weather we can get!

Dressing Up a Casual Skirt

Today's post is brought to you by yet, another Pinterest photo. Seriously though how did I ever get dressed without that site?! I definitely would not consider this a dressy skirt, it's very casual. But when I saw this photo, I thought it would be fun to dress it up a little with heals and a blazer. This would be perfect for a dinner and drinks or a night out.

Spring at Target

Have you walked through your local Target accessories section lately?! Holy moly it's like I died and went to Spring accessory heaven! The shoes are all to die for, and the bags, jewelry, and scarves are gorgeous as well. I didn't end up purchasing anything because there was just too much to choose from and I couldn't bring myself to make a decision, one of the things I'm worst at is making decisions. Anyhow, I'm glad I waited because online Target shoes and handbags are buy one get one 50% off. I think I will be ordering some of these lovelies in the near future!

No Muss No Fuss

Some days you just need a simple no muss no fuss type of outfit. That's what I went for today, I wanted to wear my new white shirt (that I scored on sale!). I decided to keep this look simple so I kind of just threw on whatever was comfortable and matched.
I want to talk about this bag really fast, I love it. Love is kind of an understatement, it has sentimental value. My freshman year of college I took a trip to Rome with one of my best friends and it was one of the most memorable experiences I've had thus far. On the last day of our trip we went shopping (which we did pretty much everyday while we were there). We went into a handbag store and there was a shelf of bags by Just Cavalli. I immediately saw this bag and my eyes lit up, it was way more than I had ever spent on a bag but I thought, 'when in Rome', literally! So I purchased it and every time I wear it it reminds me of that trip and how much fun we had.

Impromptu Outfit

One of the things that I find most difficult about blogging is naming my posts-- isn't that strange? I think my problem is that I over think it, which is actually a huge problem I've had my whole life. I over think way too much.  Ironically I feel that my best ideas come to me impromptu.

Throughout the duration of this blog, I carefully plan out my outfits at the beginning of every week. I write a list of things I want to wear and then build an outfit for each day around those pieces. However, I've had a lot of things on my plate this week so I actually didn't have time to think about what I wanted to wear. No time to think about clothes?? Madness!

In an effort to free my mind from my usual over-think-everything-self, I am going to just wear what I feel like wearing this week without any thought. Sounds like a plan? We'll see how this little experiment works out. So far it's coming along well because I love this look, yay!

Feminine with Edge

I love mixing feminine pieces with tougher ones. I paired this simple black A-line skirt with pieces that have a little bit of edge. This was my first time wearing this spiked necklace and I must say, I think I've fallen in love with it. The spikes make it look edgy but the rose gold  and rhinestones make it look a little softer, which is perfect for this look.
